Butterfly Light Award

I received the Butterfly Light Award from Lori @ Creating Beauty in the Kitchen.  Apparently this award is for “beautiful bloggers who are spreading light in the blogging world”. The actual story behind this award is that it was started by a blogger named Idiot Writer who wanted to thank a fellow blogger for helping her. Such a lovely concept…Thank you very much Lori! If anyone is spreading light in the blogisphere, it is certainly Lori. This award means so much coming from her!

Here are the rules for the reward
1. You must write an acceptance post, making sure you link back to the blogger who awarded you and thank them. You may not lump this award in with other awards.
2. You must individually name and nominate a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 9999999 bloggers. You have to let them know either personally with a comment on their blog OR a pingback.
3. You must link back to IdiotWriter’s blog.
4. You must write a short paragraph – Entitled either “How I’m Spreading Light” OR “How I’m A Positive Influence”.
5. Display IdiotWriter’s lovely “Butterfly Light Award” badge on your blog.

As for “How I’m Spreading Light”…I honestly didn’t realize I was. I simply enjoy visiting other blogs, commenting when I’m able and supporting all of my blogging friends. It is my pleasure to do so. So much inspiration can be gained from scrolling through blogs out there. Sometimes it’s a photo which catches my eye or even a line of a poem and I’m drawn in to read the entire post. If only there were more hours in a day to truly dig in! If someone’s post makes me giggle on what was a bad day…I let them know. If someone else is sharing grief or a problem…I don’t hesitate to console or try to help. Just as I would in the “real” world. After all, don’t we all feel a little better when kindness is plentiful?

I’ve decided to present the Butterfly Light Award to each of the ladies who stepped in and took over feasting with friends for a day during my recent hiatus. Without their “light” shining on me, I would have been post-less for much longer than I was, thank you to all. Even though Lori was the one to present this award to me…and I’m aware it’s slightly unorthodox…I’m awarding it back to her too. Forgive me, please. 🙂

  1. Oh Nancy… thank you so very much!! Ugh…I totally suck!! I had no idea that you had nominated me for this award… I’m so undeserving! Whereas, you are without a doubt, completely deserving of this award….. I do have to say that I would jump whenever, wherever you need me. Always. Thank you so much…. this means so much to me. ❤

  2. Thank you so much, Nancy, and congratulations on your well-deserved nomination. What a beautiful concept for an award. In my case, I was only too happy to be able to help. It made me feel special that you asked me. ❤

  3. I love this Nancy! You truly do spread light…the blogosphere is not the same without you….we all missed you terribly while you were gone. Love the butterfly…so gorgeous!!

  4. How are the plans coming for that trophy room, Nancy? This is another award that seems created with you in mind. How nice of you to use it to shine the spotlight on those who gave lent a hand when you needed one. Congratulations to you all.

    • Oh, if you could see the entire butterfly bush in the photo you’d assume it was lost in the winter too! It’s very sparse compared to previous years and the blooms are much fewer, though luckily it is still there. Ironically, we had two offshoots sprout up a couple of feet away…I guess it’s nature’s way of making things right. 🙂
Thank your for your very kind words!

I'd love to have your input....
