200th post? 200th post! How did this happen so fast?
A better question is, how did I manage to reach this milestone at the absolute busiest time of year for my kitchen? Pretty bad timing, in my opinion. I have been cooking and baking up a storm these last few weeks. So much… it’s been difficult to find time to post. And then, before I knew it, I hit my 199th post… last Sunday.
For the last week, I’ve been contemplating what my next post should be. Indecision proved to be no decision.
I procrastinated. I’m good at that…
I’m also good at breaking rules. Even if they’re my own rules…today should be a Michigan Monday post. However, I have no “special” Michigan recipe to share today.
And then, I got to thinking…
One constant that has remained throughout the life of this blog, is the inspiration (and weight) I’ve gained from other blogs. I have featured, or given shout-outs, on a pretty regular basis here at feasting with friends since post number nine. That post marked the first time I linked to original recipes (those not adapted by me in some way). The photos you’re viewing throughout this post are many of those recipes. If you click on my photos, you’ll be led to the recipes from the other blogs.
So here you are, on a Monday, viewing a Shout-Out Sunday. A day late… a dollar short… my life in a nutshell. 😉
Just look at all the photos! And this isn’t even all of them… my linky tool was giving out on me. I’ve had numerous successful snacks, meals and treats thanks to other bloggers.
I offer thanks to them for the continuing inspiration that has, in effect, kept feasting with friends chugging along.
Even though there were days, weeks and yes, even months, that life got in the way and prohibited posting… I kept on cooking!
Sometimes, especially during my health related hiatus from blogging, other bloggers (and daughter) cooked for me. There were delicious guest posts among the 199 posts prior to this one. I wouldn’t have gotten to #200 without these ladies…THANK YOU!
There you go. The 200th post, with over 30 recipes to revisit. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
